Rock mechanics applications
Rock-mechanics test devices determine the mechanical properties of rock samples and drill cores — essential for tunnel, mining and gallery construction. Before any drilling, the point-load strength and uniaxial compressive strength of the rock mass must be characterized.
Point-load test per ISRM Suggested Methods, uniaxial compressive strength per ASTM D7012, split-tensile (Brazilian Test) per ASTM D3967. Specimens are typically cylindrical drill cores (NX diameter, 54 mm) or irregular rock pieces.
Typical users: geotechnical consultancies, tunneling contractors (BLS, SBB), mining, university institutes (ETH, EPFL).
Manufactured by UTEST Material Testing Equipment in Ankara, one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction-materials testing equipment, supplying more than 130 countries.
