Applications of this asphalt / bitumen testing device
Asphalt mixtures are tested for stability, flow and void content before placement; bitumen binders for penetration and softening point. Both tests are mandatory under EN 13108 for CE conformity of asphalt mixes.
Marshall test systems per EN 12697-34 determine stability and flow of compacted asphalt specimens. Compaction hammers per EN 12697-30 prepare the specimens. Penetrometers for bitumen follow EN 1426 (needle penetration); ring-and-ball apparatus follow EN 1427 (softening point).
Typical users: asphalt plants, road-construction companies, canton and municipal road labs.
